When we first arrived in Hawaii, our girls had the awesome opportunity to visit a horse rescue, here on Oahu. While there, the girls were able to meet & ride horses and also visit other livestock, including donkeys, pigs and rabbits.
My daughter couldn’t figure out what emotion she was feeling on her first horse ride – she didn’t know whether to be beyond excited or horribly terrified! I stamped a label from the My Mind’s Eye, Kate & Co. collection, in blue and also an arrow label from Kelly Purkey’s, Right, in yellow Now. For the sentiment i used a Dear Lizzy roller stamp, it say’s “High Five”. The Candy Stripe button is by Candy Shoppe.
I wanted to use the card on the left, as my date keeping card. I stamped the date and sentiment using another roller stamp by Dear Lizzy. Then, I added a simple plastic star, in yellow to mark the day of the week. On the right, I used the heat embossing technique with both the phrase and the heart stamps (both by Ormolu). * I will do a video soon, on how to add heat embossing to your Project Life cards.
The horse picture was a framed photo that was sitting out during the educational part of the day. The kids were given general information on all the animals they were going to meet that day. I added two simple flower buttons to the right side of the picture, in order to tie the colors in with the card to it’s right. This card was my primary journaling card for this page. I always go back and forth about my handwriting (hence, the other one in my handwriting) and so for this part, I chose to trust in the always faithful printer. I highlighted a couple key words, by changing the font color from black to blue.
Thanks for stopping by, hope you enjoyed the layout! Have a fantastic Labor Day weekend!
